Mentors ousted cheer dance top from D’ Virus

DUMARAO, Capiz — Their heads were adorn with white enamel paint as duggested by Noegen Boholano, Mentors (Teacher Education Department) made it to shine at the center stage. Captured with blue and white attire, with good synchronization and amazing choreography by Are Silva, they defeated D’ Virus (College of Veterinary Medicine and Computer Education Department) during the cheer dance competition on September 11, 2013. The competition was a part of Capiz State University, Dumarao campus Intramurals.


“Discipline, perseverance and dedication,” Are Silva, also Mentors’ cheer leader, stressed their edge among the other teams.

“We are just having fun and enjoying what we are doing,” he added.

Mentors also defeated two other teams, Greeners (Agriculture Department) who was place to third place and Warriors (Criminology Department) who ranked after the Greeners.

On an interview conducted by Mark Leo Hapitan Connects, independent online media site, Silva said “teamwork kag greediness sg mga cheer dancers sa pag-achieve sg certain goal [teamwork and greediness of the cheer dancers just to achieve a certain goal]” of his trainees made them to bring home the bacon.

The competition was adjudged by Mary Loid Indiana, Estefania Montemayor National High School PE Teacher; Leovilie Hiñola, Dumarao Central School PE teacher and Ryan Huquiriza of Presentacion Diez-Gregorio National High School.

“We conceptualized the real meaning of the cheer dance. As I think, that is one of our edge to win”, Silva ended his words.
