SONA fashion millieu inspires CapSU Induction Program

DUMARAO, Capiz — Imbued with Filipino fabrics as barongs for males and Filipinianas for females on July 26, 2013, the Induction Program of Capiz State University, Dumarao campus imitated the last day's President Aquino's State of the Nation Address fashion milieu. The event marked as the first ever in the history of the institution wherein the inducted officers worn Filipino pride costumes. 


Capiz State University clubs and organizations officers as PTCA, provincial, classroom, fraternities and sororities were first inducted by Prof. Violeto Ladoc, Office of the Student Affairs chairman. 

Standing as the Congress, Miriam Defensor-Santiago Hall witnessed the coming of the elligant legislative frontrunner of the 2nd district of Capiz who was Hon. Karen Artuz Palomar. Palomar served as the guest speaker of the program and an inducting officer of the newly elected Supreme Student Council (SSC) officers, the highest student leaders in the whole university. 

On Palomar's message, she recalled the famous quotation of Dr. Jose Rizal - the youth is the hope of the Fatherland - and correlate it into her modern version which was "the youth has come for a better tomorrow". 

Moreover, Palomar also expressed among the students to focus on their studies and not just with extra-curricular activity after thanking the audience for voting her last May 2013 National Elections. She also left a message to the members of different fraternities to impart good values and be model among their fellow students. 

Meanwhile, SSC president Bernphine Padernal presented a resolution approved by SSC body asking fund to Palomar for the construction of shed to roof CapSU departments main ways. Palomar was happy as she announced that senator elect Angara already sent funds for the construction of CapSU shed. Consequently, Palomar will still pursue to grant the resolution for the sake of another project in the university. (MARK LEO HAPITAN/ Student Writer)
